Is the berry of the Synsepalum dulcificum bush original to Africa. This berry is known as the miracle fruit because of the content in the pulp of a glycoprotein called miraculin. The miraculin is not sweet in itself but when the human tounge is exposed to this protein it completely mask the taste sour, and bitter from the foods for a long time.
